Red Clay Park breaks ground, part of the 14-mile Kennett Greenway

A new park in Kennett Square Borough, Red Clay Park, is part of a plan to restore and beautify the 30-acre strip of land along Red Clay Creek from Anson B. Nixon Park to Kennett High School’s Legacy Fields. On Aug. 9, county commissioners and local leaders were on hand as ground was broken on a key portion of the new park — a “pocket” park on Dalmation Street near East Cypress Street. Red Clay Park is also part of the regional 14-mile Kennett Greenway plan to connect Kennett Square, Kennett Township, New Garden Township and East Marlborough Township, and reach into northern Delaware.
