Chadds Ford weighs traffic changes to curb cut-through driving

Chadds Ford Township supervisors are considering several traffic modifications on Webb, Harvey and Oakland roads to address longstanding complaints about speeding and cut-through traffic, much of which officials say comes from drivers avoiding congestion on Routes 1 and 202. Township engineer John Renzo presented four potential scenarios, including road closures, one-way traffic patterns and turn restrictions, with a preliminary recommendation to make a section of Oakland Road southbound one way to reduce northbound cut-through traffic while maintaining emergency access. Township officials said additional public input will be sought during another presentation scheduled for October.
