Turnpike ‘zip’ ramp into Fort Washington opens

A new, $3 million "zip" ramp connecting the Pennsylvania Turnpike's Fort Washington interchange to the Greater Fort Washington District officially opened on July 14 in Upper Dublin Township. The decade-long effort was led primarily by Upper Dublin and its municipal authority after the project was dropped from a county program. The one-way ramp routes vehicles to Commerce Drive and improves access for the 134 properties in the office park, particularly benefiting commercial trucks that couldn't previously exit via the existing slip ramp. Officials praised the ramp as a boost to economic development and regional connectivity.
