Delaware County releases 5-year sustainability plan

Delaware County’s first-ever sustainability plan was presented and accepted by county council during the Aug. 16 public meeting. Created over the past two years, “Sustain Delco” provides the framework for a sustainable and resilient Delaware County that serves to protect residents and future generations from the impacts of climate change. “The county utilized a data-driven and community-informed approach laying the foundation for a more sustainable future,” said Rebecca Yurkovich, the county’s sustainability and resilience manager. The plan identifies more than 293 actions targeted at progress in six focus areas: climate resiliency; natural resources; transportation; energy and efficiencies; zero waste; and health and wellness.
