Parx Casino buys hotel, delays plan to build a new one

Greenwood Racing Inc., the parent company of Parx Casino in Bensalem, has put plans to build a new hotel on hold. Instead, it purchased The Inn at Fox Chase along Street Road in front of the casino and plans to renovate it over the next six to 12 months. The hotel will remain open during renovations and will debut as a new brand once completed. The purchase price was not disclosed — the last acquisition price for the hotel was $13.75 million in June 2023. Last year, Parx Casino received approval to construct a 300-room, 158-foot-tall hotel complete with two restaurants and space for weddings, banquets and conventions. The facility was expected to be completed in 2025.
