Norristown unveils Elmwood Park revitalization plan

Norristown Municipal Council, residents and officials received their first look at a comprehensive draft plan for the 40-acre Elmwood Park, not including the zoo. The plan reimagines the green space with safety upgrades, new recreational amenities and a proposed community center featuring a pool, a gym and multipurpose areas. The $40.6 million Elmwood Park Master Plan, designed by Norristown-based Simone Collins Landscape Architecture, has been in development since fall 2024. A final plan is expected later this year.
